Dump Trailers

A dump trailer pays for itself in labor. Any operation that regularly moves soil, gravel, mulch, demolition debris, or scrap will recover the price difference over an open trailer faster than most owners expect.

Heavy duty steel dump trailer unloading gravel at a construction site

Overview

The hoist configuration defines the trailer. Single-ram hoists are economical and fine for lighter, uniform loads. Scissor hoists deliver the most lifting force at the start of the cycle and are preferred for dense material like wet clay and gravel. Telescopic hoists lift high and clean out completely.

Pay attention to the sidewall height, bed thickness, and the ramp package. A 10-gauge floor with 12-gauge sides handles construction debris that would dent a lighter bed, and slide-in ramps let the same trailer carry a mini excavator to the job and haul spoil away.

Benefits

  • Unloads in minutes without hand labor
  • Two-way or three-way gates control material spread
