Lock the coupler
A hardened coupler lock is the minimum. Add a receiver pin lock when the trailer is hitched and consider a locking hitch cover for goosenecks.
Immobilize the wheels
A wheel clamp defeats the quick hookup. Combined with parking the trailer nose-in against a wall or another vehicle, it removes the easy grab entirely.
Track and document
A hidden GPS tracker turns a total loss into a recovery. Photograph the VIN plate, serial numbers on major equipment, and any distinctive features, and store them off-site.
Storage habits
Park in lit, camera-covered areas, vary your patterns, and remove valuable tools overnight when practical. Insurance should list the trailer specifically, not just as an unnamed attachment.
